L’inscription dans leurs textes des modèles constitués par Byron et Hoffmann participe de la représentation de soi en minores, ce que confirme également la construction de la figure de l’auteur en alchimiste raté. En inscrivant l’échec au cœur de leurs œuvres, les « petits romantiques » affirment leur minorité et expriment les angoisses de toute une génération d’écrivains. This article looks back at the “minor romantics” and shows how certain writers classified in this category by literary history created a minor ethos in their writings around 1830. The inclusion of Byron’s and Hoffmann’s models in their texts is part of their self-representation as minores, which is also confirmed by the construction of the figure of the author as a failed alchemist.
